Lollipop update for Android Wear might be coming tomorrow

On the phone and tablet side some devices have already been updated to run Android 5.0 Lollipop, the latest version of Google’s OS. But the company’s Android Wear platform has not yet made the jump. That could all change tomorrow.
A new rumor says that’s when the update to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop for Android Wear will start rolling out.

Future Apple Watch models will reportedly pack more built-in sensors

Despite the fact that the Apple Watch is yet to arrive, rumors about its successor already began circulating. According to a report by Reuters, future iterations of the wearable device will pack more sensors.
Citing people familiar with Apple’s plans, the report reveals that future iterations of the device will offer richer health features. Apple Watch is currently set to measure activity via the iPhone’s Wi-Fi and GPS.

HTC smartwatch allegedly not canceled, due early 2015

HTC hasn’t actually stopped working on a smartwatch of its own, according to the omniscient “people familiar with the matter”. This report comes to contradict a rumor from last week, which said that the Taiwanese company had given up on the idea of creating its own smartwatch.

The speculation back then was that this had something to do with the company’s effort lacking any ‘wow’ factor when compared to its prospective competitors.

Microsoft reportedly near a deal to buy the maker of Minecraft

According to a report in The Wall Street Journal, Microsoft is near a deal to acquire the Swedish company Mojang AB. The studio sits behind the ultra-popular video game Minecraft.
The deal may be officially announced this week. The Redmond giant will allegedly pay more than $2 billion to acquire Mojang AB.

According to the ever-present “sources familiar with the matter”, HTC has decided to give up on the idea of creating its very own smartwatch.
In an age in which seemingly every Android smartphone maker has branched out into this new wearable category (undoubtedly helped by the existence of the Android Wear platform), this might sound like an odd decision.

Windows Phone 8.1 has already received its first general distribution release (GDR1) but now rumors are pointing to the second one. According to sources claiming they’ve played with a functional WP device running the GDR2 software the settings menu can finally be sorted alphabetically.

HTC-made Nexus 9 Magic Cover leaks with a keyboard in tow

Details regarding the upcoming Nexus 9 tablet from HTC known as Flounder/Volantis have leaked again. The latest one concerns the tablet’s smart cover, which will have some neat tricks up its sleeve.
The information is retrieved by AndroidPolice and has a lot of credibility to it. The Magic Cover, as it’s rumored to be called, sports a Bluetooth keyboard and will be available in leather and TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethan) material options.

Apple iWatch will reportedly debut alongside iPhone 6 on September 9

According to a report from re/code, we won’t have to wait long for the debut of the Apple iWatch. The hotly anticipated wearable device is tipped for launch alongside the iPhone 6 in less than two weeks, on September 9.


Unsurprisingly, the wearable device will likely be closely integrated with the built-in health-tracking suite in iOS 8. Another feature, likely to be available on the gadget is home automation via HomeKit.
